Collaborations

The New Zealand String Quartet has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Colin Carr, Anton Kuerti, James Campbell, Stephen Dann, Frans Helmerson, Alexander Lonquich, Piers Lane, Nobuko Imai, Hariolf Schlichtig, Christoph Richter, Atar Arad, and Peter Nágy; the Lafayette, Lindsay, Michelangelo, Pražák, St Lawrence and Goldner quartets, as well as jazz greats Mike Nock, Jim Hall and Wayne Marshall.

They also work with New Zealand composers and many new works have been commissioned specifically for them. Sometimes collaborative relationships take them across musical or cultural boundaries, often introducing them to new audiences.

The Kreutzer

A theatrical tour de force, The Kreutzer combines dance-theatre, live classical music and an interactive audio-visual feast. The work is based on an original idea by Peter Barber and has been adapted and directed by Sara Brodie.
