As part of our second international tour this year, we will journey to The Netherlands to play all of Beethoven's string quartets spread over six concerts. A first, because never before has there been an integral performance of these works in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Beethoven String Quartets:
Opus 18 No. 4
Opus 18 No. 5
Opus 59 No. 3
Opus 18 no. 4 seems pre-Beethoven: the piece breathes the atmosphere of the Sturm und Drang period of twenty years before. In opus 18 no. 5, Beethoven follows Mozart's example. Opus 59 no. 3 is the best known and most compact of the Razumovski quartets.
