Time & Location

04 Sept 2024, 7:30 pm – 9:20 pm

The Lodge, 9 Arney Street, Paeroa 3600, New Zealand

About the event

The New Zealand String Quartet bring a programme of fresh and   familiar classical works to Paeroa. We'll be returning to the same intimate and cozy venue after a sold out concert as part of our tour with Arts on Tour in 2023. Generous canapes will be served and all profits from a cash bar will go to the Paeroa Community Support Trust.

As part of their 2024 season, Soundscapes, the NZSQ is taking chamber music outside of the traditional concert hall to explore the way music connects us with our surroundings. From eco-sanctuaries to art galleries, to cozy and eclectic music venues, imaginative programmes collide headfirst with unique spaces creating epic, multi-sensory experiences.

The New Zealand String Quartet recently welcomed a wonderful new musician to the ensemble, violinist Peter Clark. This concert is one of his first performing with the Quartet as second violinist. Come along to give Peter a big NZSQ welcome!

Concert Programme:

Claire Cowan, Celestia > < Terralia

Beethoven, String Quartet No. 16, Op. 135 in F major

Debussy String Quartet in G minor, Op. 10

Whether you're a classical music fan or looking to try something new this concert is not to be missed.

No Need to be an Expert:

The concert programme, crafted in the NZSQ’s signature style, aims to engage audiences of all levels of familiarity with chamber music. Each piece of music is preceded by a lively and informative introduction delivered by the Quartet members themselves. These introductions seek to shed light on the stories behind the music, making it an enriching experience suitable for all audiences.
