About the event
Experience the magical world of the string quartet, in an exciting 45 minute show, with Aotearoa's very own string quartet.
Your tamariki will experience a range of delightful music, participate in some engaging musical games, and meet the stringed instrument family! We'll even have story time, where a delightful musical narrative is shared through the live musical performance.
An immensely enjoyable morning for all ages - come and let the New Zealand String Quartet bring warmth and music to your chilly Autumn day!
No Need to be an Expert
The concert programme, crafted in the NZSQ’s signature style, aims to engage audiences of all levels of familiarity with chamber music. Each piece of music is preceded by a lively and informative introduction delivered by the Quartet members themselves. These introductions seek to shed light on the stories behind the music, making it an enriching experience suitable for all audiences.
For all of our South Island concerts in May, Gill and Peter will be joined by two talented guest musicians:
Arna Morton - Guest Violin
Callum Hall - Guest Cello
