The New Zealand String Quartet (NZSQ) presents an annual season of world-class performance and education events nationally and internationally. This is an exciting chance to join our energetic team and play an integral role in the work of the Quartet as it continues to evolve to make chamber music relevant to modern Aotearoa audiences.
The New Zealand String Quartet Trust is seeking a Finance & Operations Officer/ Āpiha Pūtea to work closely with the General Manager/Kaiwhakahaere Matua and the Marketing & Admin Co-ordinator/ Whakatairanga in delivering the Quartet’s wide-ranging programme of work.
We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of financial systems, excellent communication skills, and a passion for the arts to oversee our financial processes and support the day-to-day operations of the NZSQ Trust.
This role is ideal for someone with administrative experience, ideally in the arts or not-for-profit sectors, who is looking to broaden their skills base within a cultural context.
You will bring:
Demonstrated financial acumen and fluency and a sound understanding of best practice financial management
Similar or related work experience
Knowledge of Te Tiriti ō Waitangi
Experience in project management and ability to meet deadlines; planning, resourcing and delivering projects on time and within budget
Willingness to contribute to the broader goals of the organisation, and capability to work within a small, focused team
Effective use of all software applications relevant to the role to optimise work performance – Accounting systems (Xero) Banking systems, CRM database, Fundraising tools, MS Office, Google Suite.
