ADAM SUMMER CELEBRATION

Adam Summer Celebration 2021: where you can enjoy the best of New Zealand's chamber musicians, including the New Zealand String Quartet, NZTrio, pianist Michael Endres, soprano Anna Leese, baritone William King, marimba player Naoto Segawa, pianist Richard Mapp.

The celebration includes four evening concerts, three afternoon concerts, meet-the-artist sessions and masterclasses.

ADAM SUMMER SCHOOL FINALE CONCERTS

The Adam Summer School returns to Nelson to enthral audiences with two riveting Finale Concerts showcasing rising young stars of string and piano performance.

Coached by the internationally acclaimed New Zealand String Quartet and 2021 guest pianist, Richard Mapp, students will raise the bar in performance to an extraordinary level.

CHAMBER MUSIC NEW ZEALAND: TRANSFIGURED NIGHT

9 – 23 March 2021 | Auckland, Hamilton, Napier, Palmerston North, Wellington, New Plymouth, Nelson, Christchurch, Dunedin & Invercargill

Award-winning choreographer Loughlan Prior fuses dance with music in his adaptation of Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night). Coupled with Dvořák’s gorgeously Slavonic String Sextet, this night of intensity, intimacy and spiritual metamorphosis is given life in a striking theatrical journey of courage, strength, and human warmth.

THE NEW ZEALAND STRING QUARTET, FOUR SUITS AND A SOPRANO

New Zealand’s most accomplished performers, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa protégé Ipu Laga’aia, tenor Chris McRae, musical theatre stars Sophie Morris and Rutene Spooner, and music legend Laughton Kora join forces with The New Zealand String Quartet to today announce a nationwide tour of THE NEW ZEALAND STRING QUARTET, FOUR SUITS AND A SOPRANO in April and May 2021.

The concert tour, including 16 performances, will be a night of operatic classics from Nessun Dorma through to pop classics. So whether you’re a fan of the classics or a lover of pop’s high notes, there’s something for everyone in this night of magic.

Applications open in April 2021.


This course will offer expert, professional coaching to existing chamber music groups of any instrumentation, including voice, which are already rehearsing a work or works. We welcome applications from groups of performers of any age, especially secondary school chamber groups preparing for the NZCT Chamber Music Competition.
