WELCOME FROM THE ADAM FOUNDATION

A warm welcome to the 31st Adam SummerSchool for Chamber Music. The Adam Foundation is proud to support the School, which provides talented young musicians with a stimulating environment in which to develop their musicality and technical skills. It has been immensely gratifying to see so many School alumni over the years establish themselves as professional musicians in New Zealand and around the world.

Whether as a participant, tutor, supporter, or member of the Nelson community, I hope you have derived great pleasure from a wonderful week of music-making. Best wishes to all involved in these highly anticipated final performances.

Verna Adam - The Adam Foundation

WELCOME FROM THE NEW ZEALAND STRING QUARTET

We are delighted to return to the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts for the 31st Adam Summer School for Chamber Music.

With over 400 participants since its inception, including many returning multiple times, the school boasts a distinguished alumni contributing to the global music scene. In an Adam Summer School first, a previous student, Malavika Gopal, was invited back as our guest violin tutor this year. Alongside her we were so fortunate to welcome guest cello tutor James Bush, guest piano tutor Rae de Lisle, and Feldenkrais Instructor Gisella Warmenhoven to join us for eight days of rigorous musical training with Aotearoa’s next generation of professional musicians. Our 26 talented students have participated in intensive coaching sessions and masterclasses to develop their chamber music skills and have displayed tremendous dedication, curiosity, and passion throughout the week.

It is our pleasure and privilege to showcase the Adam Summer School Class of 2025 to you in these Finale Concerts. Enjoy!
