The New Zealand String Quartet performed quartets by Schumann and Bartók in this lunchtime concert. The quartet's previous lunchtime concert at NZSM was filmed and screened online during lockdown—for this concert they're very excited to be back sharing their music with a live audience.
The programme includes works that represent different points in the two composers' careers. The F Major quartet was Schumann's first go at writing for the medium, and Bartók's string quartet No. 6 was the last one he wrote before his death.
